About me

I have spent the last 25 years working with adults, teenagers, and couples with various issues and desires to grow. This includes mental health, substance use, grief, family dynamics, parent coaching, faulty thinking, and various traumas. I have a strong understanding of how all these issues are interrelated as well as how to use a variety of techniques and approaches to address each individually as well as together. I am interactive in my sessions while also being able to support individuals in sitting with their feelings.

I have worked with many types of cases in many different settings throughout my career. These have included mental health clinics, substance residential centers and outpatient programs, adoptions, harm reduction programs, schools, and the prison system.

I received a B.S. in Psychology, M.S. in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Psychology. I continue to attend workshops and educate myself on all the innovations that are occurring in the field in order to best serve my clients. I do not pretend that I know everything and always enjoy when clients bring new ideas into our sessions.

Since 2017, I have been in private practice. I am licensed to practice in California and Oregon. I continue to see Californian residents via Telehealth and Oregon clients, both via Telehealth and in person. I encourage those in the Portland area to see me in person, as I believe this is the most valuable way to create a strong connection. I know this is not always the most convenient option, so I encourage a hybrid model (video and in-person) when possible.

With all that being said, I believe the connection is what is most important, and I highly encourage clients to meet with me a few times before feeling committed.

I am not limited to one modality or framework but do bring in many various concepts found in particular psychotherapuetic approaches. I am completely open to using ideas, concepts, and tools from any psychotherapuetic approach that you would like to explore further.
